Wendy Workmaster
Wendy Workmaster is a character which is only mentioned here and there. Wendy is past, gone and dead yet remembered by many with a sore heart, especially her twin brother Walter and her fiancé Gabriel.
How to describe Wendy?
She was another little Walter, a pure Workmaster through and through. She could finish the sentence of her brother and he could finish hers. They would laugh and cry at the same time, at the very same things. Physically, she is a tomboy blond, the exact copy cat of her brother. Very pretty in understated ways, she grabbed the overwhelming attention of Archangel Gabriel.
Her personality is similar to the one of Walter, again: she is one free spirit. She is not afraid to make tough decision and hit the road when something is wrong. She has her own mind and you shall not make her bow to settle for a prison, even a loving one, if it kept you away from humanity. She is a human, after all and before all.
She had absolutely no idea that the Big Gab, she said ‘yes’ to, was a big fat Archangel. She found his possessiveness and jealousy totally out of order and she was right for it was. She flew out of the relationship, asking to rethink about her betrothal.
Quiting the reception desk of Gab’s clinic, she found a new job as a PA of politician Paul Peterson. Asked to tour the US for his campaign, Wendy follows, taking the opportunity of the road trip to rethink her relationship. Time and space was all she needed to make up her decision with a cool mind. A last phone call made to her reassured Gabriel upon his betrothal and Walt who was helping him to wow his sister back big time. Yet, this was the last time they ever heard her voice.
Wendy never returned to them. She was killed like so many others. Sacrificed upon a pentagram, Wendy lost her life. Her human blood was only shed to feed the greed of evil. Her soul was dragged to Hell like a token/trophy, kept there with the many other souls claimed by P.
Wendy went to ‘Neverland’ for her brother Walter, and he broke down knowing she was no more. He wanted to join her, and was stopped by Gabriel to do so, to kill himself, just in time, in front of his young family. What Big Gab found was a brother completely distraught ready to reunite with his twin in the After-life.
Archangel Gabriel threw himself into the care of Walter and his family, after Wendy, in her memory. He is the providing uncle, the one they all can turn to. He has guilt sown to his grief which makes him devote himself to Workmaster’s family.
Wendy is a character which soul will be rescued from Hell in the second book, courtesy of a very caring Beast and Walter.
I am afraid there is no quotes for ‘little Wren’, her nickname by her brother and Gab.
For her creation, Walter had a twin, an alter ego, a female counterpart. Walter and Wendy are very special, this you will learn in the fourth book.
For the trivia, Wendy is the one that flew away with Peter. This is a pure wink to ‘Peter Pan’. This is a reference to my childhood influences. Disney all the way before I could grab a book and read. So my Wendy ran away with someone called Peterson.
I haven’t told you why I called Paul Peterson that way. Why ‘P’ is how he is usually referred to?
First, ‘P’ is irreverent and means what it sounds like. I am not taking the piss revealing this to you.
